As an ACE customer (consumer of electricity and/or natural gas), you can join ACE and be involved with our co-operative at whatever level you choose, for a fully refundable one-time payment of $25.00. We offer great electricity and natural gas rates; innovative renewable energy programs and we support the communities that we serve by hiring locally.

Refer a Friend for $25

Electricity and Natural Gas have a lot of moving parts in Alberta.

The electricity you use is measured by kilowatt hour (kWh) and/or the natural gas you utilize is measured by gigajoule (GJ). The average home in Alberta uses around 600 kilowatt hours every month, and/or an average of 120 gigajoules of natural gas per year.

Distribution and Transmission charges are included on your bill on behalf of the Distribution and Transmission companies and are the same regardless of which retailer provides your service.

  • Distribution fees support networks that move electrical and natural gas energy around our service area to your home, for your use. The distribution system is owned by the Distributor.

  • Transmission charges support the upgrades and maintenance for wires and infrastructure that moves electricity from generation facilities or for upgrades and maintenance of gas lines and infrastructure to the Alberta communities where it is used.

When temperatures drop and storms hit, it can be challenging to stay safe and warm. ACE cares about your safety, and we want you to be prepared. Heavy snow and ice can lead to downed power lines, leaving you without power. During a power outage, power crews will work as quickly and safely as possible to restore power, but there are a few things you can do to prepare yourself, like winterizing your home, planning for an alternate heating source (or other places you can go) and a Shelter at Home Emergency Kit is an excellent first step.

Winter driving can bring many challenges to staying safe and warm. ACE cares about your safety, and we want you to be prepared. There are a few things you can do to prepare yourself, like winterizing your vehicle and preparing an Emergency Kit.

The Do’s and Don’ts to Prevent Carbon Monoxide Poisoning

Member Information

The rules by which we operate the co-operative (developed in adherence with the Co-operatives Act).

An initiative designed to help us “move the needle” with the Federal Government to eliminate the requirement to pay Carbon Tax on Uncollected Debt. ACE is very much in favour of renewables, and we are not reluctant to remit the carbon tax of those billables we were able to collect. This initiative is specifically to address those costs that we are not able to collect and prevent rising overhead or operating costs which negatively affects our customers.

As a member of ACE, do you have a child or grandchild that would benefit from post secondary educational funding? ACE has developed three Scholarships for ACE Members (including the children or grandchildren of Members). Click on the “Scholarship Program” button to learn about the bursaries available and the specific application criteria.

At ACE, we value our consumer members and believe in sharing the benefits of our cooperative. As per ACE’s Bylaws, when our Board of Directors declares a dividend, we’ll ensure that our consumer members receive their fair share. As a member of ACE’s cooperative, your portion will be distributed to you based on the percentage of business conducted with us, and it will be added as a credit to your ACE invoice.

Additionally, we are committed to investing in renewable energy. The funds allotted for this purpose will be held in trust until they are disbursed for a venture recommended by the Consumer Member Investment Committee, upon approval from our Board of Directors.

As a startup co-operative and given the volatility in the market, it is regrettable that our Board of Directors has not yet declared a dividend for the cooperative, however the future looks bright!  We assure you that we will keep all our ACE members informed when a dividend is declared in the future. We appreciate your continued support and look forward to sharing the benefits with you when the opportunity arises.
