
Alberta Co-operative Energy has developed Scholarships for Members, or the children of Members, or the grandchildren of Members as we recognize the tremendous amount of dedication, hard work, and educational funding for students to achieve their goals. We encourage you to apply for the one scholarship that best suits your area of expertise as you may only apply for one scholarship.

$1,000 Scholarship for Academic Achievement
ACE will award one scholarship for Academic Achievement. The award is for the applicant with the Highest Average achieved in four grade 12 subjects (English, Sciences, Social Studies, Mathematics in any combination of these total 4 subjects). Verification documentation must be provided with your application.

$1,000 Volunteerism Scholarship Award
ACE will award one scholarship for Volunteerism. The award is for the applicant with the best 1000-word essay on why you have chosen to volunteer with the organization(s) you have; for which you received no pay, school credits, or marks for your contribution (work experience, playing on a sports team etcetera will not be considered) and how your experience has changed your life. You must provide the approximate hours completed over the last 3 years and two (2) signed and dated Reference letters outlining your volunteerism must be included with your application.
To be eligible to receive above mentioned Scholarships, you the Scholarship Applicant:

Must be a valid Membership holder, or the child of a valid Membership holder, or the grandchild of a valid Membership holder in Alberta Co-operative Energy at least 1 full year in length, prior to scholarship application.

Must be enrolled full-time in a Post Secondary Degree or Diploma program or an Apprenticeship Trade Program within the last twelve (12) months (please provide proof of acceptance).
As the Scholarship Applicant, you will be required to declare that all information is true and complete, and that you understand it is subject to audit. In addition, you must affirm that you will immediately notify Alberta Co-operative Energy in writing if you withdraw from full-time studies before completing one semester of studies.
If you receive a scholarship, you must confirm by your signature that you authorize
Alberta Co-operative Energy to release your name, photo, and program of study.
Selection Process:

The recipient for the Academic Achievement category will be selected based on the Highest Average Achieved of the four core subjects. If two (or more) applicant’s averaged score of the four core subjects are identical to the fourth decimal point, the recipient will be selected on a lottery style basis conducted by an ACE Committee.

The recipient for the Volunteerism category will be selected on a lottery style basis conducted by an ACE Committee if multiple complete applications are received for the Volunteerism category.

All portions of application must be completed and submitted with required verification documentation or required essay and reference letters. Incomplete or incorrectly completed applications will be rejected.

No confirmation of receipt of application will be sent to applicants.

A Scholarship will be awarded to the successful applicant within 30 days following the deadline.
